“I didn’t feel like I was asking for charity.”
A parent who visited one of our partner food projects told us that having choice, a warm welcome and time to sit and chat made all the difference.
They left with food – and also with information about other support nearby.
Cooking together, learning together
At a community cook-along we brought together neighbours from different backgrounds to share recipes and tips for making the most of low-cost ingredients.
People left with full containers, new ideas and new friendships.
Young people leading the way
Local young volunteers helped to organise a food collection at their college, sorting donations and supporting a pop-up pantry. They gained skills and
confidence while helping to support families near where they live.
